The desert doesn’t always need to be dramatic to be beautiful. Near Safford, the landscape surrounding Mt. Graham can be remarkably spare, with broad stretches of earth punctuated mostly by creosote. On this day, that quiet simplicity seemed like exactly the right accompaniment for a sky determined to steal the show.

Sometimes the desert wows by knowing when to let the clouds do the talking.

This original miniature painting was created with gouache paint on 140 lb. Legion hot pressed Stonehenge Black watercolor paper and measures 3×2”. It comes in a signed mat and frame that bring the overall size of the piece to 4.75x3.75”. It ships free.
