Lone Lookout
Lone Lookout
The Lone Cypress is a Monterey cypress tree located in Pebble Beach. Standing atop a granite headland overlooking Carmel Bay, the iconic tree is reputed to be one of the most photographed trees in North America. Seeded circa 1750, the tree has been weathered by the wind and salt spray over the years, altering its appearance. The earliest depictions of the tree’s likeness in paintings and photographs date to the 1880s and show the tree with a lush dome-shaped canopy.
Created with gouache paint on 140 lb. Legion hot pressed Stonehenge Black watercolor paper, this painting measures 2×3" and comes in a signed mat and frame that brings the overall size of the piece to 3.75”x4.75. It ships free.
