"Magic Carpet Tide" Single Blank Greeting Card

$6.00

The springtime blooming of the “Magic Carpet” or “Pink Carpet” of purple and pink ice plants in Pacific Grove, California, is truly a sight to behold. Apparently, poison oak once lined the bluff, but local resident Hayes Perkins planted the first ice plant (drosanthemum floribundum) in its place in the 1930s. His vision transformed something inhospitable into a dreamy wonderland. Perkins Park, where the pretty pink and purple plants grow most abundantly, was named for him in 1950. The bloom typically starts around mid-April and lasts until late-May.

Card measures 4×5.5" and is blank on the inside, ready for your own personal message. It has the above information about the painting printed on the back.
